Welcome to The Travellers Rest, Sowerby, one of the finest food and drink experiences in Calderdale. Situated to the north of the village of Sowerby and approximately 5 minutes drive from the town of Sowerby Bridge, visitors to The Travellers Rest are treated to dramatic views across the Calder Valley, the ultimate in food and drink and most importantly of all, a warm welcome.
From the moment that you first walk through the handmade oak door you enter a world of individuality and luxury. York stone flagged floors, open fires, exposed stonework and oak beams set the theme and instantly your realise that this is no ordinary pub/restaurant.

Whatever your favourite tipple, whether it be a glass of champagne, pint of hand-pulled Timothy Taylor real ale or luxury soft drink, The Travellers Rest delivers. Choice is the name of the game and we are extremely proud of the quality and extent of drinks on offer. Unlike many other pub/restaurants, drinkers are just as welcome as diners and we are confident that your will soon feel relaxed!
FABULOUS FOOD
Deliciously Yorkshire, fine locally sourced food is top of the list at The Travellers Rest. We serve the same Menu and Blackboard Specials throughout, sit in the Bar or in the open plan Dining room, have a quick bar snack or a three course meal, visit us and you won’t be disappointed. Our team of Chefs led by new Head Chef Mark Lilley (formally of The Brown Cow Scammonden) have an enviable culinary track record and all of our food is cooked from scratch, on the premises, and using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. TRAVELLERS FUNCTIONS
The Travellers Rest is the perfect venue to host your wedding, family celebration or corporate gathering. The whole or part of the pub is available for hire and our Chefs can create the perfect menu to accompany your event so celebrate and meet in style at The Travellers Rest! What about a BBQ on our terrace - cooked under cover if the weather is bad.
